HYDROLOGIC UNIT CODE BOUNDARIES (HUC), 1998

 

SCOPE OF WORK

 

PROPOSED ACTIVITIES

 

The Contractor will:

 

1.  Provide all necessary personnel, equipment, and facilities required to produce 8, 10, and 12-digit Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) boundaries to NRCS and USGS-WRD standards in ESRI=s Arc/Info format.  Project specific tasks for each basin are as follows:

 

Task 1:  Selection of Watershed & Sub-watersheds

$ Designate 10-digit Watershed boundaries on 1:500k

$ Review, revise, obtain consensus on 10-digit HU's

$ GIS Preparation & production of 1:100k or 1:200k maps

$ Designate 12-digit boundaries on 1:200k

$ Review, revise, obtain consensus

$ Facilitate GIHUG Review, revise maps, get consensus

$ Assign 10- and 12-digit HU codes

Task 2: Delineate watershed and sub-watershed boundaries on 1:24k maps; color code boundaries; check each map.

Task 3:  Develop Digital GIS Coverage of HUC-boundaries

$ Manually digitize or trace and scan all boundaries

$ Attribute polygons with HU codes and arcs with HU level

$ Join, edge match, and develop single GIS coverage

$ Document coverage, and colleague review

$ Release ARC/INFO and ARC VIEW coverages

 

2.  Provide completed HUC datasets to the Georgia GIS Data Clearinghouse for review and acceptance.

 

3.  Adhere to the AGeographic Information Systems Standards and Guidelines for the State of Georgia.@

 

4.  Adhere to the methods and criteria for hydrologic unit selection and delineation published in the Draft Interagency Standard for Hydrologic Unit Mapping and in the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) National Instruction 170-304, AMapping and digitizing watershed and subwatershed hydrolgic unit boundaries,@ first issued in July 1992.

 

5.  Submit quarterly progress reports summarizing base map activities.

 

The ITPC will:

 

1.  Provide to the Contractor on request current versions of all relevant standards.
