IMAGERY REFERENCE DOCUMENTS

Land-Based Classification Standards
An extensive study by the American Planning Association of existing land-based classification schemes and a proposed multi-dimensional standard.

North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)
The NAICS replaces the Standard Indutry Classification or SIC coding system. The 1965 federal ‘Standard Land Use Coding Manual’ (SLUCM) was based on the SIC; Georgia land use mapping under the Planning Act of 1989 was based on SIC codes. NAICS was first used extensively for the US Economic Census of 1997.

TRANSPORTATION

A RC-reconciled, statewide 1:12,000-scale DLG-F Transportation Database, is available on a county basis via the Georgia GIS Clearinghouse. Each county can have up to six data files for download: airports, helipads, runways, roads, railways, and bridges.
